Veterinary Suicide - Why We Must Keep Talking about It with Not One More Vet's Dr. Carrie Jurney

See this content in the original post

Once again, over the past couple of weeks, the US veterinary profession has been devastated by news of a series of suicides by colleagues. This week we speak with the President of Not One More Vet (NOMV) Dr. Carrie Jurney to find out what we can do to help prevent suicides in veterinary medicine.

Co-hosts Dr. Ernie Ward and Beckie Mossor, RVT have a candid conversation about the current trends in suicide both in the US and abroad, the warning signs of self-harm, and simple steps you can do to help a colleague or loved one in need.

This episode also discusses some of the reasons veterinary professionals may be at greater risk of suicidal ideation and depression, and the impact student debt has on overall wellbeing.

Viewfinders, this is a tough topic we need to keep talking about until we no longer receive news about losing another friend, coworker, or colleague.
